Christ's Evangelical Mission has been started with calling and vision of a young man named B. Jaya Sankar who became a follower of Jesus at age 15. From the moment of his conversion, Jaya dedicated his life for full time ministry in 1986 to doing what ever possible to spread the gospel to his people, a people of caught in the deepest clutches of bondage to idol worship and supersitions and living in ignorance of the True God. God gave Jaya a vision for reaching the most desperately needy people in his state of Andhra Pradesh with Christ's love by planting churches among them. CEM was formed to faciliate the both church planting efforts and to care for the great humanitarian need which surrounded Jaya
CEM is registered as non-profitable and charitable organization with the Government of India in the year 1989. The Indian government granted FCRA status to CEM in the year 2001 so that outside funding could be received to help and to meet the growing needs and opportunities available in Andhra Pradesh.
God has blessed the ministry of CEM and 78 churches have been planted in different villages of Andhra Pradesh.
